I am born <date>1723. the 23</date><hi rend="superscript"><date>th</date></hi><date>. of May</date> at <placename>Reichstone</placename> where
my Vater was Rector of the School. He & my Mother
had destin'd me from my Youth to the Lord & were very 
sorry to keep me back from all ungodly & to animate
me to every Thing what's just & right. But this was
a hardship to one & the tender Work of God, o dear!
soon sized in my Heart. In the College at <placename>Breslau</placename>, I
found Liberty, never did Care for God or godly, &
followed the Inclination of which my marred Heart
dictateth. I very well <sic>feeld</sic>  <corr>felt</corr> as often as I was to go
to the <sic>Comunion</sic>  <corr>Communion</corr> a internal Call to give my Heart
