fought by Pultava, whereby he was taken Prisoner of
War. By all approaching Dangers, he was allways a
praying the XCI Psalm, which his Papa recomended
to him, & our Savr heard his Prayer & kept him Hand
about him, that he never was hurted in the hotest of
Battles. By his Imprisonment they plundred him quite
& he was like the other Prisoners to undergo Hunger &
Cold on their Journey to Syberia. therefore
as he was with his fellow Prisoners brought up a large
River & arrived at a Island he resolved to remain there & to
complete his wretched Condition. With this Intention
he walked about the Island & stilled his Hunder with
Grapes which grew there. Here a old sea captain
met Him & ask'd how he came hither & he relate his Cir-
cumstances to him & the Captain trusted him with so much
Money to proceed on his Journey, but his fellow Prisoners found
him & forced him to proceed with them. He was lef to maintain
himself about 4 years till he got another Support from
home & was at last 1721 released of his Imprisonment.
Sometime after he arrived here & toock Possession of his Papa's
Dominion. Ao 1733 he marryed Lady de Bock his present
Widow. By this means our Saviour awakend them
both: afterwards he became acquainted with the Brethren,
& got a Talk on the Doctrine of our dear Saviours
bloody Redemption & came in a tender Conexion with Him
