In mercy fo thou every thought inspire
and keep my heart from every hurtful snare,
& make me lowly, humble, meek & mild
[?] to thy leading and thy will -
Teach me to be again a little child
And every seed of self will quickly hill.

O may I ne'er disgrace this blessed flock
Who kindly have received me in their fold,
But brightly run with them my destined
                                                            race,
till called from earth thy glory to behold.

Bless, O my Saviour! bless this little band,
of "faithful witnesses" to which Im joined
Let peace and harmony their souls unite
And heart to heart in strongest love cords
                                                              bind.
Appended to these are the follow-
ing written probably on the same occasion.
"How sweet is the blood of the suffering
                                                             Jesus,
Which flowed to redeem us from sin and
                                                    from death,
His anguish from every affliction can save us,
For our lasting peace resigned he his breath,
'Tis he can support us midst sickness & [?],
All greif  grief disappears when we've faith in
                                                               his love;
