this faithful and instructive narrative
of the Lord's dealings with her; especially
as there are no memoranda from which
a continuation of her history could be
extracted. A few years ago she expressed
her intention to pen down some further
instances of the mercy and faithfulness
of her compassionate Saviour; but her
increasing infirmities prevented the
accomplishment of this task. Her
words on that occasion were: "I could
relate much that would show the
fickleness - the obstinacy - the perverseness -
thehardness of my heart; and the
difficulties those have to struggle
with whose early prejudices to evil,
have taken deep hold on the mind.
But amidst all, my faithful Saviour
hath never left me. Goodness and
