The Life of the Md Sister Marg. Evans whose Maiden Name was Lewis who has dictated the following _____ I was Born Sept 23 1723 at Clambad in Rolnorshire[?] My Mother was a Religious Woman & bro.h me up as well as She co.d according to her knowledge. When I was about 5 Years Old, I had such a Conviction that I thought every Creature did obey God by my Self, but this impression wore off. In my 8th Year I felt my fallen estate & begd the Lord to forgive my backsliding, & was glad when I cod have the House to mySelf in my heart, notwithstanding this did not abide but was forgotten till my 12th Year when I was awakend by hearing the Methodists. Some young peopel persuaded me to go to a Dancing at a Wake, but when I went into the Room & Saw my Sister, I calld her out to come home directly & so return'd, my heart was ready to break feeling such an Aversion to such things. I continued to hear the preaching of different persons, but felt a particular lik- ing to hear Mr Beauman. I went to the Comm at the Church when ab.t 14 Years of Age. The last time I heard Mr Beauman, he said he was going to Hauerfordwerts but there is a people calld the Brethren, keep you to our Savr & he will bring you to them. I felt what he said was right, & soon found that the Meeting that wch were kept there did not suit me & they began to persecute me, & they said I dump'd their Meetings, as I co.d not Relish what was said, but our dr Savr was very near to me & made my Cup[?] run over w.th his Love.
