greatest Favour and grace to devote these her children to him who had
given them to her. As oft as one of her children became partakers of
the congregation grace she was used to shed tears of Joy and thankful-
ness and it was a most peculiar satisfaction not long before her end
to hear that our dear Saviour had granted her son Cornelius the con-
-firmation to the Holy Sacrament. It was likewise a particular
matter for her praise and thanksgiving, that notwithstanding all
changes that had happened, our dear Saviour had preserv'd her and
hers from going astray from him and she often spoke of it in her
last illness. Ever since the year 1767 she had been afflicted with
a disorder in the throat which made it very difficult for her to 
swallow; this increased, and in May 1768 a great decrease of
her strength was percievable. No medicine had effect long together,
and she was often obliged to fast a considerable time, yet she bore
this painful disorder with examplary patience thro our dear Saviours
gracious suport and assistance. The 15th of January this year
the disorder was so increased that her death was expected, she
continued so cheerful and lively that she was more like a happy
child then a sick person; some time before her departure she said
"our dear Saviour must still do more for me, and give me a gracious
look before he takes me to himself," A few days before her decease
she express'd herself with the greatest satisfaction, and said our dear
had comforted as a poor sinneress. Singing of verses was
a great refreshment to her, and tho she could not sing herself
she repeated what other sung; it was great matter of Joy to her
that tho she had never had a good voice for singing here, 
she should be able above to sing the praises of the Lamb in
Harmony with the blessed. She often repeated "oh my lord most
faithful, give thy merrit unto me, then I'm satisfied - I have wept
after thee and testified that nothing, no nothing but
Jesus bleeding merrits; was the foundation of her hopes and
