Does any one your words receive in Faith?
O then his Soul is surely saved from Death:
I will myself these Words repeat & say:
Poor Sinners haste, to Jesus haste away!

In another place he says:
Tis good that this Society
does in the Bond of Love agree,
and every hearts with Love inflamed
so oft as Jesus name is named

Lord Jesus Christ Almighty God!
Who unto death our Souls has loved;
Wash us with they most Previous Blood,
Cleanse heart and Mind with that pure flood;
Thy Holy Love, to us, Inspire,
and fill our hearts with Loves pure fire

In a third hymn we find the following words:
Should I the Day of Judgment see;
And the End of Time behold,
Still nought shall move my heart or eye,
My Anchow firm I'll hold!
Yea should love storms and tempests make,
Even my faith's Foundation shake
Still to my Jesus i will cleave
My one and all I'll never leave.

In another hymn which is wrote as a preface to the collection
He expresses himself in these Terms:
Perhaps

Perhaps this little Book may Prove,
A sermon on our Saviours bleeding Love,
A Sermon on our Saviours Faithfulness,
His Mercy, his Long Suffring and his grace:
If so, no Danger that I shall repent,
The Pains I've taken, if but one soul amend
And turns to Jesus, who before Him fled,
Becomes converted both in Word & Deed;
His be the Honour, which to him is Due
My Point is gain'd, which I've alone in View
My hearts at ease, and satisfied to

In the year 1744 he became acquainted with Br George Gambold
who was then in these Parts, and about 6 years afterwards Mr Beaumonts
Sermon and happy departure out of this Life made a great Impression
not alone in him, but likewise the rest of the Awaken'd Souls. In the
year 1754 a division arose among the Awaken'd in this city, some of them
chose Br Sparks and Mr George Gambold for their Teachers, form'd
a little Society and assembled frequently in a chamber appro-
priated to that Purpose; and often experienced our Saviours
grace. Br Cennick visited here the same year, with much
Blessing. Two years afterwerds the above mention'd Society desired
the Brns Congregation to take them under their care, and Br
Sparks together with the rest of his Fellow Labourers, were the first
who sign'd this request. To which purpose they was afterwards
frequently visited by the Brn: and generally had a Brother
Residing among them; and this continued till August 1763
when this Society was settled to a Congregation, which was a
great

Register.
