In the Year 1737 the Books of Taulerus, Thomas a
Kempis & Jacob Bohm came in his Hands, and he got by
Reading of them made him uneasy & concern'd that he might
not be condemned with the World, but he took a Delight
in Gichtels and Dippel's Principles & met with some also,
who was of the same Mind with him, and who strengthen'd
him init, with whom he had an intimate conversation
and tho' he was oblig'd to suffer a great deal in that Account not
only by the Town's People but by his Fellow Scholars
also, yet he remain'd of the same Mind that he might
not be lost with the World. This gave an Opportunity
that a great many, who was concern'd about their Sal
