An 23d of October 1760 our Dear Brother Charles
Otto von Stackelberg 
Lord chief Judge in Great Camby
went to our Savr. He was born in the month of March
1702 here in Livonia in the City of Dorpat, and
being deprived of his Parents in his Tenderest Youth
thro the Pestilence which in the year 1710 raged in these
Lands, was brought up in the Lord Chanceller and
Bishop of Uxxel's House in the City of Reval. At the
Age of 18 he had thoughts of going to Germany to an
University, but the Poor circumstances of his Estate,
Great Camby, which was intirely Ruined thro the
Troubles of the War, oblig'd him to lay aside his Intention
and betake him self to Business thro which from time
to time he became pretty well reinstated. In the year
1734 he married Lady Christiana Maria von Schwan
der and remain'd 4 years at his Mother in Law's seat
during which time there began a particular Work of
our Saviour quite in the still on his Heart, which shew'd
it self by a real concern for the Salvation of his Soul
to which the Acquaintance and Conversation of our
dear deceased Provost Tutor, greatly contributed.
out of his 3 sons and 5 daughters are 2 sons and one
daughter gone before him to our Savr. In the year
1736 he came assessor in the Upper Consistory at Riga and
the following year Lord chief Judge. In the year 1752 came
the (then) studient of Divinity (at present our so much
blessed Heathen Missionary) and dear Br Smick, as
Tutor to his children 1743 was the most Remarkable
year of his Dying Life, as it was then that He, as 
a poor Sinner sunk into the Bleeding Merrits of Jesus
and at once was freed from the Uneasiness and con-
cern of his Heart; became also acquainted with
Brn & Srs out of the Cong. But in Particular with
our dear Mamma (deceased) who at that time, with
