but bethought himself & look'd for the bre

Watteville to whom he told the Circum
stances of his Heart & that he wanted to
Live among the Brn, they advis'd him to go
to Herrndyk & in three or four Day he
found the Way there, stayd but nine Days
as they told him they expected many Brn &
Sisters who were going to Pensylvania &
that they should be very much thronged &
wanted they Room, he went from thence to
Rotterdam with an Intention to take ship
ping for Pensylvania & there to go to the 
Brethren. But here it came in his Mind he
should go to HHaag, & accordingly he sat out,
& came there in the latter End of the year For
ty one where Brother Margraff & Samuel
Krause took him under their Care both
inwardly & outwardly, he help'd to dig the
Well & after a hard Fit of Sickness he went in
to work with the Weavers in the Single Brns

House, here it went well with Him & he had
very happy Time & a sweet Feeling of the
Passion of our Savr, which made a happy
Impression in his Heart. In the year 42 in
the Month of May he was rec'd in the Congre
gation & went on in this happy course in
the year forty three when so many colonist
were made out to go to Pensylvania he was
one among them & the 19th of June was accor
dingly married, & in two Days after was
admitted to the holy Communion, which grace
humbled him & made him asham'd, he enjoy'd
the Company of the Geschwister in Echerhausen
till the 24th of Aug this year they sat out
with the Rest of the Companies to Holland
on Board the Ship littel strength bound for
America but first to England from whence
we were dispatched by Br Joseph. On the Voyage
which was nine Weeks he held many converse
with our dear Savr and about his Plan, look
upon himself as a poor sinner who had nothing
to recommend him but his Grace & mercy
