Bethlehem the 19th of April 1760
The Life of Br George Bitterling extrac
ted from his own Writing
In the year 1712 on the 19th of Jan in Upper
Lusatia in the Village of Ebersbach near Zittau
I was born, when my Father was 77 of Age
I had already in my tender Years an Impression
of our Savr & was glad when I saw a Cruxifix
or a Picture of the Suffering of our Savr or
such Verses: O my Hearts lovely, Jesus dear
the Savr's Blood & righteousness Lord Jesus
I live to thee but after I grow up I lost this
tender Impression & came into all manner of
bad Circumstances both for Body & Soul, when
I was seven years of Age my Father, who was
then Eighty Four went out of Time. When
I was fourteen years of Age, & was confirm'd
to the holy Communion I felt the drawings of
the holy Ghost in my Heart, that I should
give myself over to the Savr & I promised much
but perform'd little. Afterwards I learn'd
to be a Weaver, I liv'd as the World but at the

Register.
