Of Br Phil Meyer Bethlhm the 15th of
Aprill 1760
He was born in the year 1708 in
Alsatia & brought up in the Lutheran Religion.
He write as follows himself: Him my Child
hood as far as I can remember, I had many stirrings
in my Heart but with many interruptions. In
the year 1724 I learned my Trade with my Uncle
Jerry Fraft now living in HHuth, who kept my
very strickt & out off every opportunity of seduction
from me which was very necessary and good for
my. In the year 27 I travelled and came to
Strasburg. In the year 28 to Franckfort
on the Mayn, and worked three years there.
Where our Saviour touched my Heart very proper
fully; I fely my corruption & sickness &
that in this tate I cou'd not be saved: this
made me very uneasy, & being desireous to
obtain rest for my Heart I tryed many
Ways, on the way an honest & pious Life
bought food Books, went constantly to Church
wept & praid often to God; for I had heard
nothing of our Saviour, & that the must free
the Heart from evil & not we: but I found
rest in nothing; I fell & rose again for 3 years
together
