In the year 43 Br and St Payne had a Call to go to America,
and in the latter End of nov in Company with a large Num-
ber of Br and Sis in the Little Strength, arrived at New York,
and soon after at Bethlm, where they served the Congregation
as Storekeepers and Stewards for about 3 years. Some
Time after they were sent to Gnadenthal where they
continued about 6 months, and then returned to Bethlehem.
After a short stay in Btlm in the Spring of the Year 48, they
came to Germantown to take upon them the Care of the
School and Nursery there, where they staid about a year
and a half, and the School there being broke up, they re-
moved with some of the Children to the little House by the
Riverside, opposite Bethlm. Soon after they were sent
to Long Island to the Place formerly Br Horsfields, where
they lived about eighteenth months for the Service of the
Souls in Long + Staaten Island. Then returned to Bethlm
after some stay there, they had their Plan at Smith-
field or Sansbury beyond the Blue Mountain, where they
were about a Year, from here they returned to Bethlm, where
they again kept the Store for some time. In the year 53
Sr Payne was ordained a Deaconess of the Brethrens Church
at the Synod at Lancaster. About this Time Br and Sr
Payne

Payne were sent to New York, where she had a very sever
Fit of Sickness, and having served the Congregation there about
a year + a Half returned again to Bethlm. After some little
stay at Bethlm they went the second Time to Smithfield where
she had another severe Fit of Sickness, at Smithfield they
staid but a few months and returned again to Bethlm providentially
for about 10 Days after, the Sasage Indians came, and burnt the
House, Church, Cloathes, and all they had left behind them there.
In the Winter 54, Br and Sr Payne were sent to Nazareth
for the Service of the poor Poeple who had fled for their Lives
from the cruel Barbarities of the savage Indians, to comfort
them in their distress, to attend and care for the sick, and to
distribute to each according to his Wants, of that store which
the Benevolence of charitable Persons had sent for that
Purpose. There our Sist had the Pleasure to see two women
of the the little Floack, she had faithfully served beyond the
Mountain, go happily home into the Arms of their blessed
Redeemer. In June 56, Br and Sr Payne came to Philadelphia
where they continued till on August 15 Sist Payne was
seized with her last Sickness the Bloody Flux. In the
Beginning of her Illness she spoke with her Husband about
going home to our Savr with much Satisfaction, if He

Register.
