Saviour namely first to convince every man, that he
has by nature nothing good at all in himself in the
Bottom of his heart, but that he is full of misery
of Corruption and Sins: this he endeavours to bring
about by his Spirit, that they may be sensible
of it and believe that this is their poor
condition, and they have caused so much Pain to
our Dr Savr that he ever rather choose to die
for them than to let them perish.
The Savr know that mankind is either quite dead,
and blind or when they are awakened, they
look to their Misery and have no confidence
to come with it to him, and therefore he strifes
to help them. He lets them see their heart, and
makes them feel that they are dead in Sins and
buried there in, and this he does by his Spirit.
Thou hast made me serve with thy Sins he says
this w: consider dear Soul! what you ahve cost
me, and notwithstanding I am  hated by thee, doo
thou not perceive, how bad this is
seest thou not, that I seek to court thee with love
and to bring thee to Rest and Salvation
He will have them know, that they surely will
be lost, if they are not brought to the sense of
their Corruption, and receive forgiveness through
his Blood. It is astonishing, that our Sav goes af
ter one of his lost sheep so many Years, to con
vince it of its undone Condition not alone by
his Spirit but also by his Children, amongst
whom he dwell with his Spirit. Blessed is the
man that receives that witness and falls as

a poor Worm at his Feet, and cries for Grace &
absolution in his blood, and then the Lord
says I even I am ho, that blothes out they trans
gressions for mine own sake and will not remem
ber thy sins
this is the General Pardon, which he im
parts to all men that come as such demeaned
and lost Sinner, unto him and confess. I am mis
rable, and lost, here I lay in  mine own Blood, I
would fair get free. Help me with thy Blood: Directly
it is done, the Sav helps them. So as he likewise
bid to the Woman, that come unto him, whom he sat
at meat in the house of a Pharisee, and fell at his
feet, washed them with her teras, and dried them
with her hair, begging for Grace and Forgiveness
which he obtained immediately. The Pharisee won
dered at it and thought If he knew what a wicked impious
Person she is, he would treat her otherways
but the Sav told him soon to whom much is for
given, he loves much. She has not ceased since
she came in to wash my feet with her tears, because
many sins are forgiven unto her.
This is the Truth, the poorer one approaches
to the Lamb of God, the greater Salvation is given
unto us. There is Grace enough, Grace sufficient
because he has shed his Blood for us on the
Cross. Therefore it is not possoble that any
Body can be saved, any other way than by Jesus
Blood alone. Suppose one was ever so holy, ever
so righteous and virtuous and he is not washed
clean in the Blood of the Lamb, it is of no
Value in the Sight of God. A selfrighteous man
or

Register.
