Memoir of the late Recd Thos Grinfield.
The very thought of writing anything like
a Memoir of myself the poorest among the
Lords' poor ones has produced a thrilling sen
sation, so that after its completion, I have more
than once consigned it to the fire. But as my
High Callong of God in Christ Jesus, & the Bre
threns Church are striking by marked with
the divine Singer, I durst? not refuse to me
cord to the Glory of God a brief narration of
the special circumstances that princi
pally bear on these two points.
It pleased God that I should draw my first
breath in the house of my parents at Salis
bury April 2, 1748. Much as I wish to ho-
nour the memory of my dear father & mother,
yet from the most credible information.
They cannot be considered in any other
view than as refined deists. Aoral? as was
their character before man, they were mini
cal so divine Revelation & its doctrines;
& as a consequenced, at times showed their
a version to all in every denomination
who prosessed the sinful doctrines of

Register.
