<hi rend="underline"><persname>George</persname></hi><persname> </persname><hi rend="underline"><persname>Neisser</persname></hi>, the first schoolmaster of
<placename>Bethlehem</placename>, Couna., was born on <date>April 11, 1715</date>,
at <placename>Sehlen</placename> (or at <placename>Neutilachein</placename> ?) and went
to <placename>Herrnhut</placename> with his parents in <date>1723</date>, & his
younger brother <persname>Augustin</persname> (born <date>1717</date> in <placename>Sehlen</placename>)
and their grandmother <persname>Judith</persname>, m.n. <persname>Jäsehke</persname>.
His father, also <persname>George Neisser</persname>, was a stone-mason
and died in <placename>Berthelsdorf</placename> in <date>1752</date>. His
mother, <persname>Susanna</persname> <add>m.n. </add><placename>Mosehke</placename> of <unclear>Septleben</unclear>,
died in <placename>Herrnhut</placename> <date>March 24, 1726</date>, probably
the first married sister to die there.
<persname>George Neisser</persname>, the future schoolmaster,
was one of those who sailed for <placename>Georgia</placename> with
<unclear>Kishop</unclear> <persname>David Nitschmann</persname> (the <unclear>[?]</unclear> in
which the <persname>Wesleys</persname> & <persname>Ingham</persname> also exiled)
as was also his younger brother <persname>Augustin</persname>, <date>1735</date>.
In <date>February 1737</date> <persname>Toeltschig</persname> sent him to
<placename>Pennsylvania</placename> to report to <persname>Spangenberg</persname> at
<placename>Wiezuers</placename> about the troubles of the Moravians
in <placename>Georgia</placename>. He was one of the Moravians en-
gaged in the creation of the <placename>Whitefield House</placename> at
<placename>Nazareth</placename>, and then worked for a Time for
<persname>Henry Antos</persname>, but rejoined the Brethren in
